Knee fracture- Upper Tibia

Option 1. Plate and screw fixation

Pros:
a. Early knee movement can be given
b. Quick recovery and return to regular activities

Cons:
a. May require a second surgery for implant removal

Option 2. Screw fixation

This can only be performed in simple split type of fractures

Cons:
a. Patient can start walking only after a few weeks

Option 3. Above knee cast

Pros:
a. No scar

Cons:
a. Prolonged immobilisation may lead to knee stiffness
b. May result in bony bump and some deformity after plaster healing
c. Patient can start walking only after a month
